The Practitioner Research Method was developed by leaders from several countries in the fields of social work, healthcare, education and practice-based research. The method continues to evolve and is constantly enriched. Practitioner researchers contribute their expertise based on the knowledge and experiences of professional practices and practice-based research in different countries.

Michael T. Wright

Dr. Michael T. Wright (LICSW, MS) was a professor for research methods at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the leader of PartKommPlus: German Research Consortium for Healthy Communities. He was a co-founder of the International Collaboration for Participatory Health Research (ICPHR) which he led until 2021. He now serves as a member of the Steering Group of the ICPHR. He has returned to the US where he works as a psychotherapist in private practice.
